Displaying sachet strips so they sell

A sachet strip that customers can see is a sachet that gets bought. Here is how to display ₹10 masala sachets at a kirana counter.

Where to hang them

  • At the billing counter, at eye level. This is where customers wait and remember what they need.
  • Facing the customer, with the front of every sachet visible.
  • Away from direct sunlight and moisture, such as open doors, water cans or the vegetable section.

How to group them

  • By use: spice powders together (chilli, turmeric, coriander, Kashmiri chilli), non-veg masalas together, veg masalas together.
  • Bestsellers in the middle of the display, where the eye lands first.
  • Pickle sachets and ginger garlic paste next to the masalas, as an add-on.

Keeping the display full

  • Refill strips every day before the evening rush.
  • Never let a popular variety run out completely. An empty hook is a lost sale.
  • Keep two or three spare strips of your top varieties under the counter.

Keeping stock fresh

  • Put new strips behind older ones, so older stock sells first.
  • Check the dates when you refill.
  • Don't cut strips into single sachets until you need to; full strips stay neater and easier to count.

Track what sells

Note which strips you refill most often. Reorder those first, and try one or two new varieties each time you order.
